Special Performances and Recognition
Over the years Billy and Bobbye have participated in numerous festivals, instructional seminars, and cultural events which serve to promote Cajun dance in Louisiana and other states. Some of the special events and festivals in which they have participated now and in the past are:
- FRANCO-FETE '99. A year long celebration of 300 years of French heritage in Louisiana. In September, 1998, the Keyes' were selected by the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism as the dancers for a major media blitz of markets in the eastern third of the United States as a lead-in to the year long celebration of Franco-Fete '99. Their participation was formally recognized by Phillip Jones, Secretary of the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism for the State of Louisiana.
- TASTE LOUISIANA CAJUNFEST. Cajun dancers and instructors for festivals in Dayton, Ohio; Amana, Iowa; Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; Lincoln, Nebraska; and the Iowa State Fair, Des Moines, Iowa.
- RANDOL'S RESTAURANT CAJUNFEST. Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
- NATCHITOCHES/NORTHWESTERN STATE UNIVERSITY FOLK FESTIVAL. Natchitoches, Louisiana.
- CRAWFISH FESTIVAL. Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.
- STAGE COACH DAYS FESTIVAL. Marshall, Texas.
- GUMBO COOK-OFF. San Antonio Chapter of the Cajun French Music Association.
- MUDBUG FESTIVAL. Shreveport, Louisiana.
- MUDBUG MUSIC MANIA. Hot Springs, Arkansas.
- "CAME THE CAJUNS". Arts Council, Marshall, Texas
